From Kaitlyn's review
Oct 26, 2020
I am so disappointed to have to write this review but also so confused as I look at the other 5 star reviews on here and the experience I had was so far from what anyone else describes. Throughout the planning process, Marni was inconsistent, often forgetting conversations we had had, not sending proposals or quotes on time, and getting very off track during our conversations. Normally this would have thrown me off but she came so highly recommended that I assumed it would be ok. We spent hours and hours discussing my vision, walking through photo after photo on pinterest and instagram and discussing every single flower in the photos. I became very concerned when the day before our wedding she called me at 10am while I was in another appointment and started asking about sizing for my junior bridesmaids bouquets, we had discussed this multiple times already. She was insistent that I give her an answer immediately but I had no way to see or compare what she was discussing. When she started sending me photos she described the bouquets as "bohemian" which was never a theme for anything in our wedding! While I was at my 11am rehearsal she began calling the venue coordinator and insisting I get over to her shop ASAP because she couldn't move forward with the bouquets until I gave approval. This was the last thing I had time for on the day before our wedding. Around 1pm I arrived at her shop to find 3 bouquets put together which were NOTHING like we had discussed. Luckily one of my bridesmaids owns a wedding florist in Virginia and was able to talk Marni through taking apart and remaking the bouquets. We had to spend over an hour in the shop which had me running late and completely stressed out. The conversations were running in circles and it felt like Marni and I had never spoken before. She seemed so confused as we looked at all of the photos we had originally used for inspiration. Finally we left and I was so stressed out I had to tell her that if she had additional questions, she needed to contact my bridesmaid and no longer text me. Now the fun part - the morning of the wedding arrives and luckily we asked Marni to bring the flowers early, because we had concerns. My mom and bridesmaid refused to let Marni into the bridal suite because the flowers still looked nothing like we requested. They brought the bouquets in and I was in total shock. My bridesmaid ended up spending the next 90 minutes in between hair and makeup taking apart every single bouquet and remaking them in the bridal suite! Had she not been there, I'm not sure what I would have done because I was not going to be carrying the bouquets that were delivered. The day before Marni had agreed to bring the flowers to the bridal suite at 1030am and then come back at 1pm to finish greenery once the reception tables were set. She went to put the greenery out and when she realized the tables weren't out, her husband became very agitated and aggressive towards my now husband. He insisted that they had rearranged their schedule for me and would not be returning at 1pm. Our friends ended up having to take the remaining greenery and finish all of the decor because again she was not following through with any of our discussions. During our planning discussions Marni repeatedly asked me if her husband could come to the bridal suite to photograph me and then asked if he could photograph our ceremony because she was insistent I would be the most beautiful bride she had worked with. I had to tell her no on multiple occasions because we had a professional photographer and I would send her the link for the photos. So imagine my surprised when during our family photos, my bridesmaid comes up with a photo of Marni's husband sneaking around the property with his camera!!! I freaked out and when I looked up I realized he was peeking over a ledge at the back of the property with his camera!!! WHAT ON EARTH!!! The venue coordinator started in that direction and he took off after we all started freaking out. When we started talking to our photographer about this her second shooter mentioned she had seen him creeping around throughout our ENTIRE CEREMONY!! I was so creeped out by this entire thing and already so insanely stressed about the entire situation. The total lack of professionalism exhibited in the 36 hours before our wedding was absurd and so unacceptable from anyone, but especially someone that works in the wedding industry. I'm waiting for professional photos to post great reviews for all of our other vendors but I cannot even do that here because Wild Iris did NOT create the flowers for our wedding. Instead I'm posting the inspiration photo and what actually showed up to the bridal suite on Saturday morning as well as a photo of her husband lurking around the venue. read more
