Went here for our first family camping trip. Easy to get to, there's about 4 miles of unpaved/graveled road to Ashurst Lake Campground. There are 25 single unit sites available (each with a fire ring, a grill and a table), no utility hookups, drinking water, vault & compost type toilet and firewood for sale. Byant and Lyn Gibsons of Tucson were our lovely hosts. They did a very great job keeping the camp clean especially the toilets and made frequent drive around the camp. The lake is just a short walk for either boating, sightseeing or fishing which is stocked with trouts, bass, channel catfish. There is even nice views of the lake from some camp sites. Our family had a nice time camping here, gorgeous view of the stars when all the lights are off. A great first camping experience. Will highly recommend this place. read more
