I'm not the one to ask about the delights of Vienna, as I found most of the city to be a hearty "meh". The gardens were pretty. I found some special items for my mom in the gift shop. But what fascinated me were the flak towers.
I learned about these towers via Google later, as there was no one on the grounds giving us their backstory. The towers were used in WWII, and now they are home to thousands of pigeons. I love pigeons, and this story tickled my heart.
While the flowers and the main building are lovely, I found the flak towers the most interesting visuals of the grounds, and I focused my photography here on them. read more
