I finally tried this spot for lunch today. It's a very cute 50s style diner inside with red and white decor. It's very clean. Our waitress was great.
I saw on a chalk board when we arrived that they had a special of wings and fries. I asked about them, and they were bone in but no sauce. Just fried wings. So I went with a chicken fried steak dinner instead. I like to compare all of the chicken fried steaks in Muskogee.
My side salad was simple and tasty with house made ranch. The gravy was very good, and the Texas toast was thick.
The downfall was the chicken fried steak. It's a frozen one just deep fried. It was good, but I love a hand breaded chicken fry.
The burgers are fresh and not frozen though because the husband had a Cajun burger. But we aren't sure why it was called Cajun unless they just used Cajun spice.
2 teas, a chicken fried steak dinner, and a burger and fries was $35 though, and I think that was just too steep for the quality of diner food.
I think mainly because we are spoiled in Muskogee by several other fantastic diners with extremely cheap prizes.
I think if I go back to Back in Time, I'll get breakfast. It seems to be the most popular option. read more
