I'm going to be honest here, I decided to stop in Baked by the Ocean solely so that I could write this review. Okay, maybe I wanted a cookie too.. I was upset to see that there were so few reviews of this place, but encouraged to see that they were all positive. This place is VERY new (May 2021). They said that they plan to stay open through the winter of demand is there and I really hope that there is. Despite it's fun exterior, Baked is an old-school bakery. They have a small selection of ready made baked good but their forte seems to be cakes and dinners made to order. I have stopped by a few times and it always smells delicious inside. I have deduced that this is probably the dinner she is cooking not the baked good. Hopefully someday I will have the foresight to order one. I got an iced sugar cookie and my girlfriend tried a vanilla cake pop. The sugar cookie was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, the CAKE in the cake pop was amazing! This place showed us pretty succinctly how well they can bake. Had my girlfriend not dropped most of the cake pop on the sidewalk, I might have paid more attention to my second bite! As I recall, it was perfectly moist and had a pleasant consistency. I guess this means I'll have to go back. You should DEFINITELY give this place your business. It may not look like much from the window but you will understand what I am raving about if you stop in. I only hope they survive the long winter and are open next summer! read more
