From Mary's review
Jun 6, 2021
I recently signed up for a yearly subscription to the Foodie Lifestyle Guide. It basically gives you discounts with a number of businesses in Canada that support various dietary needs, from plant-based to keto. I recently found Bakin' Us Keto listed. The discount is 10% off everything. The business is in Wellesley. I often go to this town to visit K & K Liquidation, which was the case yesterday. I decided to pay it a visit and check it out. The bakery is in the heart of the town's downtown area. I parked across the street. I feel that the store's signage could be better. There are smaller, bright pink signs on the windows and such, but you can barely read them across the street. There seems to be a place on the house-turned-business for a sign, but there was nothing on it. After I had crossed the street, I saw a small sign on the pavement with a sad, deflated red heart balloon floating aimlessly as it saw fit, indicating that there were keto treats. I'm always staring at whatever is in front of me. If you're a baby crawling along, you're more likely to catch it. I will likely see it if I trip over the sign and fall next to said baby. I walked up the stairs and entered the store. I didn't see a ramp for those requiring help entering and exiting the store. I was met by a friendly woman. I took a look around. They had bagels, cakes, ice cream, dill pickle pork rinds, and a lot of condiments. I was so happy looking at everything. I looked at the price for a bag of Krisda chocolate chips. I use them to make muffins. The price is comparable to my local low-carb store. With the discount applied, it makes things more appealing. Next weekend, I'll return to pick up cupcakes, chocolate peanut butter balls, and jalapeno cheese bagels. I am hoping that they are yummy and I'll likely provide an update to this review then. This place also does delivery, but I don't know whether that's applicable to the GTA. The store recently reopened. It's open Wednesdays through Saturdays. On Saturdays, it's open between 10 am and 3 pm. Update: I picked up cupcakes, chocolate peanut butter balls, and jalapeno cheese bagels on Saturday. The cupcakes looked so pretty. I have devoured the strawberry and blueberry cupcakes. They were delicious with cream cheese frosting on top. They were moist and done with care. The chocolate peanut butter balls had a thin layer of chocolate as the shell, which melted on my fingers as I took a bite. It's a two-bite delicacy. Each one contained a generous amount of peanut butter filling. So good! I still need to try the jalapeno cheese bagels. They aren't Montreal-style. I hope that they are yummy. (232) read more
