Bambu originated in California and I'm glad they've decided to enter this highly saturated vietnamese community on Nicollet Avenue. All these delicious vietnamese places like Quang's, Pho Hoa, Pho 79, Pho Tau Bay...etc, but not really anywhere that specializes in drinks and desserts. However, that time as come, Bambu is here!
Bambu originated from my home state California and has slowly been expanding throughout the US. They have 50+ locations in various states like Texas, Florida, Illinois, and now Minnesota!
They specialize in Coconut desserts and drinks, but their other stuff is solid as well. I'm personally not a coconut person, so I don't like most of their specialities. I've had the Vietnamese Coffee, which is not bad. And also fresh fruit Mango smoothie with crystal boba. The smoothie is quite pricey, but it's good. It's very flavorful and you can tell it's pretty fresh. The worker recommended crystal boba, but to me, it was similar to aloe vera. I probably would try and get another topping next time.
I've also tried the milk tea with boba which was decent. Not terrible, but not as good as Kung Fu Tea or Indigo Tea House.
If you like coconut flavored stuff, then you should definitely check this place out.
The drinks here are more pricey than the California counterparts, but that's probably due to the lack of competition. Most of their drinks come with "add-on's" included, which include boba, crystal boba, coffee jelly, lychee jelly, mung bean, and many more!
Bambu is a nice addition to the asian dessert scene in Minnesota and I hope more follow suit! read more
