Came to Walrus and the Carpenter for oysters, it was too packed, so we ducked into the corner for some drinks and those dang oysters. They did not disappoint!
We ended up getting two half-dozens of oysters, absolutely delicious. Super refreshing, shucked well, didn't have any complaints there. Drinks were also nice. Would've maybe given a five star, but the octopus carpaccio was not my favorite. It was drenched in olive oil, and it did not taste great. Way too greasy and not enough acids (despite there being a bit of lemon) cut through and have anything but oil residue. Not the ideal way the poor octopus should've ended up.
Overall though, good experience, loved the oysters, would come back again! read more
