This place opened just 2 weeks ago, and I've seen it several times as I take daily walks or runs along Avenue. The cakes always look amazing from the road. It was a rainy day with not a lot of foot traffic. I had just finished my Time to Run and was craving something sweet.
Upon entering, the decor is modern farmhouse chic. Bright but not glaring, with a large backlit canvas wall art. Music was soft jazzy downtempo; easy to study with or have a conversation.
They said BB means grandma in Persian. BB Café is part of a family-owned chain with 7 other locations. This location that opened 2 weeks ago at 1779 Avenue Rd. They are on the east side of Avenue Rd, just south of Melrose Ave.
I got the tiramisu. It was one of the best I've ever had. Very smooth, without espresso or alcohol flavoring, and perfect texture. I also got a medium nonfat decaf latte. I hadn't planned to eat most of the tiramisu, so I got the latte in a cup and can't speak to the latte art. It was well-made, and a great contrast to the sweetness of the tiramisu.
The owner, her son, and her friend were all very nice. They kindly took my suggestion to list on Apple Maps and Yelp after I showed them I couldn't find the business via Yelp or DDG. I submitted to the former with their help and then submitted this.
It was very clean. I didn't have a need to use the restroom (I hear y'all call it a washroom here).
I'll definitely be back as I'm in town for at least a few months for a coding bootcamp, and the music was great for studying. It's also open late (9-10 pm), unlike most places on Avenue.
