When bb.q Chicken opened up in downtown Markham, next door to Comebuy, which is where I typically get my tea fix, I was happy. It has been a few years since this Korean fried chicken place opened. Have I been there? No.
I saw this bb.q Chicken open up in my neighbourhood. I got excited. I made the effort to get myself over here several months after it opened.
I'm getting a bit better. I'm still not the hop-on-the-bandwagon-immediately type, though.
This place used to be a Cuban restaurant. It then became a Thai eatery. It's now a Korean fried chicken restaurant.
I do hope that it stays. The area needs a Korean eatery.
Last Thursday, I looked at Uber Eats. I saw a BOGO deal. I took advantage of it.
I got the crispy shrimp menbosha with garlic mayo. Yay, BOGO!
I had already had a bowl of shrimp wonton noodle soup. I needed something smaller than a meal. This order was perfect.
The estimated time to pick up my order was ten minutes. Perfect!
I got here a few minutes past the estimated pickup time. There were a few parking spots in front of the eatery. I backed into a spot and walked in.
A nice man was behind the counter. He was nice. The eatery has gone through a few changes since it was a Thai eatery. I liked the neon slogan on the wall.
I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order. He found mine and handed over a paper bag with my food. I thanked him and left.
My car smelled so good. I'm roughly a five-minute drive away.
I remember having the Chinese version of shrimp toast growing up. I was hoping that what I got would be just as good. Nope. It was even better!
Each little toasty sandwich had flavourful chunks of shrimp between two slices of crunchy toast squares, with everything deep-fried to perfection. The crunch was fantastic. I loved each little crispy sandwich. I dipped it into the garlic mayo. It had sliced garlic in it. Excellent!
The following day, I had the other portion. I toasted them up in a pan. They were equally as yummy a day later!
This item is still a BOGO deal on Uber Eats. I need to head back for more.
I will order some Korean fried chicken next time, too. I'm so happy that this eatery is in my neighbourhood. Please stay!
