I love the Broward County Library System and this branch has a tropical vibe unique to the Beach Branch. The library is housed in what looks like a cheery yellow beach house with Bahama shutters. This library branch location contains more than 15,000 books, DVDs, music CDs, audiobooks, magazines, and newspapers. You can also have material from the Broward County Library system sent here for pick up by requesting it with one click online. The library holds programs for children and adults.
My favorite part of this library is the art outside. This branch contains two of the the 5 foot tall Painted Pompano series which was the City of Pompano Beach's first large public art installation. Gene Sherakov painted the silver colored fish named Silver Streak, The steam punk inspired fish named Rusty Guppy is the work of Magnus Sebastian. The pompano fish statues have been so popular the city now has a second series of them. Also outside is a series of ocean paintings featuring fish on loan from by D.K. Sallee on loan to the city from Pompano Proud Inc.
This may not be the largest or newest library branch in Pompano Beach but it has it's own charm. read more
