Update: This job did not have a desirable outcome. Despite a descriptive contract, schematics, photos, discussion on-site and by phone, and every assurance from him, the work did not proceed in the manner or timeframe agreed upon. The footers he installed were so faulty that he could not find a poured wall subcontractor willing to proceed directly on them. We offered mediation to negotiate a resolution, but he did not engage in mediation and then he stopped communicating. The subsequent inspector, surveyor, engineer, and contractors confirmed the poor quality work and lack of compliance with Building Code or industry standards. As of June 2026, he has not contributed to the remediation costs. We ended up having to redesign the foundation wall composition, height, and footprint dimension to accommodate the faults. read more
