The signature sauce is the claim to fame at this casual quick order spot. From the outside, I thought they only did takeout, but while I was waiting for my order, I noticed they did have a little dining area off to the side. I sampled the wings and fried shrimp, both in the honey hot sauce. I'm going to get my complaints out of the way first: 1. Pass on the shrimp, it's the super basic shrimp that you get in the frozen aisle at any grocery store. 2. Portion size on the fries that came with the wings seems skimpy. Yes, it was 15 wings so less room in the plate, but the fries can go in a separate container for bigger orders of wings. Maybe I've been spoiled by Wingstop though?. 3. Another complaint about the fries...there was not a drop of salt or seasoning. I would have chalked it up to just a miss during a busy BiketoberFest weekend, except that you can buy a small container of seasoned salt for $1. I get charging for EXTRA seasoning, and I get that the little containers for the seasoning have to be purchased. But if the idea is that people can control the amount, then it should just be a big jar and free to add what you want.
Critiques aside, the wings are definitely worth checking out. Fried hard, super crispy outside, not dry, and slathered in that honey hot sauce. The spice level is mild (note, I'm from the Caribbean and have a solid tolerance for heat), but the flavor was most sweet and savory until the the little kick of spicy came in towards the ending bites of that first wing. The heat and sweet are very well balanced, there is plenty of sauce, and ranch is included with no upcharge. I'm definitely making this a stop next time I'm in the area for more of those delicious wings, even if I have to bring my own salt for the fries. read more
