Before I moved out of North Carolina, Bin Five was just becoming a thing in the Hickory Area... I had heard about it, and even though it's right up my alley, I just never found the time to go. Upon my recent visit to NC, my family said "you HAVE to go... you just HAVE to go!" So o took their word for it and went.... then... I went again... and I tried.... to go again, but they were closed. So let me tell you why this place is so great: It's basically a store that features returns from Amazon. They have a bunch of big bins, with boxes and products strewn about, it's like you're digging for treasure. You can not open any box, but you can take it to the back to have someone open it up for you to see what is inside and (if it's an electronic item) plug it in / put in batteries to see if it works. Every day of the week, the price of each box/item lowers to clearance out their stock In preparation for the next delivery, which happens over the weekend. One day, everything will be $5 each, then it goes to $4 the next day, $3, $2 and so on. People line up outside at 5-6am on Saturday and Sunday to get inside first because you can find really expensive items if you're among the first people to scavenge a new delivery. Me personally, I see that most of the items here are worth way more than they're asking... So I didn't care what day I'd go on... I got some cream for my psoriasis which is close to $20 new, for $2 each... I got a personal hair trimmer, another $20 item for $5... I got several phone cases for 75% of the normal price, I even got some vitamins and supplements for just $2! Even though I didn't find a new tablet or something extravagant like other people do, I still found a LOT of stuff that I will use for basically pennies. I love this store so much. I currently live in Florida, so I will be searching for something like it down here! read more
