Sometimes there's tourist destinations that don't quite live up to the hype - The Blarney stone and castle is not one of those! I booked a day pass online and it was around 20 euros. I took the bus from Cork city and it was about a 30 minute ride. Very easy to find your way to the visitor center from the bus stop!
The grounds are absolutely stunning with the most quintessentially GREEN Irish grass you've ever seen. The castle is stunning and the hike up to the stone is not for the fainthearted. Seriously, if you are claustrophobic or have mobility issues, this is probably not the attraction for you. But there's still plenty of beauty to see and enjoy without going to the top of the castle and kissing the stone.
There's cute little gift shops with postcards, postage, and other trinkets. I'm so glad I took the time to visit Blarney - it was one of the most memorable parts of my trip by far! read more
