This morning was my first time in at Bonaventure Coffee Roasters. I occasioned to be in Arlington for my teen's SAT sitting, and had a few hours to occupy myself. I love finding and supporting local coffee and tea places.
I am currently sitting in the shop drinking a lovely green tea (for anyone who has read any of my other reviews, I am generally a chai tea drinker, but the chai mix has milk derivatives, so that was out this trip). The slight aroma of freshly ground coffee is intoxicating and I'm not even a coffee drinker!
The seating is well thought out with a combination of two and four person tables, as well as a pair of upholstered chairs by the window. The decor is aeronautical and the deep greens and browns of the walls and furniture are somehow soothing. The vintage looking radio playing oldies completes the vintage feel.
I absolutely have to compliment the young barista working this morning for her excellent customer service and overall friendliness. We had a lovely short chat as she made my beverage. She checked in occasionally to see if I needed anything, but mostly left me to myself as I read.
Additionally, the shop has a great selection of other "pick me up" (chocolate - a local chocolatier, and bagged coffee - their blends of course) and other sweet to go items.
My few improvement suggestions would be to perhaps partner with a local bakery in order to be able to offer some selection of baked goods and I wish the upholstered chair had been a more cushy. I missed the scone accompaniment to my hot beverage and I never could quite "settle in" for a good read on my book, but overall, a wonderful visit. read more
