This Bridgehead is in the Fairlawn Plaza which is across the street from Carlingwood Mall. It's fairly large, but a lot of the seats are cordoned off right now due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Bridgehead sells fair-trade coffee and tea, and they also have some baked goods, sandwiches and snacks. They are based out of Ottawa now, but they have some history in Toronto. I'm not completely clear on the history of Bridgehead, but as far as I know they only have locations in Ottawa now.
Most of their stores are in "walkable neighbourhoods" targeting people who live in the area, with street parking only but there are a few in plazas like this one, with free parking.
Their prices are the same or slightly higher than places like Starbucks or Second Cup.
I stopped by recently for a London Fog (they call it an Earl Grey Latte on their menu, which is a better description anyway and saves them from explaining what a London Fog is to people who don't know, I guess, lol). My drink was pretty good. Although the Earl Grey flavour was not as potent as it is at the location near my house.
Bridgehead is like in between Starbucks and an Independent Coffee House. They are not a big chain, but not a small indie cafe either.
They have seasonal items like Pumpkin Spice Lattes, but they don't really come out with new innovative drinks.
I like Bridgehead, but I can't say that I go there all that often. read more
