Stepping out of the CT cocktail scene for a few days to enjoy summertime in Maine. My first stop was Brix + Brine. True to its brand, it is al fresco dining in the heart of Ogunquit, Maine. Known for offering the largest selection of raw bar items around, this spot slings superb cocktails and delivers the freshest seafood. I appreciated that before making my cocktail, the bartender asked if I preferred it shaken or stirred. She then prepared it and poured it into an elegant and thin V-shaped glass. The martini was strong, refreshing, and filled to the brim. Something just hits different enjoying a cocktail with the ocean only steps away. The olives were quite firm and salty but ultimately left me feeling undecided about whether I enjoyed them with my drink or not. The oysters and tuna from the raw bar were succulent and delicate.
