Had an okay time at Brix. It was my first visit, and to be honest, I don't see myself coming back. I arrived on a Wednesday around 5 p.m., and it was surprisingly busy, which initially had me excited. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there.
The interior was nicely decorated with a good variety of seating. I grabbed a spot on the couches, but it took a very long time to get any service. Honestly, the service was awful. It really felt like they needed at least two servers on the floor to keep up. We were ignored for quite a while, so I eventually got up and asked for a menu at the bar.
When we were finally ready to order, it took just as long to get the drink as it did to get someone's attention. I'm not sure if the bartender was new or overwhelmed, but it wasn't a great experience.
On the plus side, the wine list was impressive. I had a Riesling, which was delicious, you can't really go wrong with wine.
We ordered a small margherita pizza, and when it arrived, it was cold, heat-lamp for a while sitting cold. Our server (Ben, I think?) never checked in after dropping it off, and honestly, it didn't even feel worth mentioning at that point. We ate and left soon after.
It may have just been an off night, but the service was bad enough that I'm not in a rush to give it another try. read more
