We were driving around Minot doing errands and we both realized we missed the lunch bell. We chose to find a local drive thru, and my husband loves to test out burgers.
From the outside, the building is long and narrow, and simply states "Burgers, Fries, Pops". The menu is pretty basic, but it really hits a grand slam with having fries, onion rings, cheese curds, and cinnamon funnel cake fries. You heard me, Cinnamon Funnel Cake Fries! The price point is pretty decent, given the amount of food you can get for your $1.
Other foods on the menu were chicken strips and a variety of hot dogs. A great American fare! Additionally there are daily specials (I posted).
We both were wondering - what is this?
So we each ordered a burger, I got my usual, a bacon cheeseburger, and he chose the BBQ burger. We really wanted to test this place out, so we both got milk shakes, and then shared fries, cheese curds, and the cinnamon funnel cake fries. Yes, we ordered allll of it.
The staff at the drive thru were very detailed, welcoming, and polite. Also, it seems like this shouldn't have to be said, but they were also really competent.
The food came out HOT and FRESH, unlike when you go to other fast food places. The portions were not huge, but they were reasonable - and honestly - where they should be. My husband regretted not asking for another patty, and we both felt that the bacon was not worth it.
However, the burger patty had that grill broil taste to it, and the rest of the sandwich was really great. The fries are similar to McDonald's only not gross - they were pretty tasty. The cheese curds were on point with a flavorful breading and cheese that was perfectly melted and was a real curd. Finally, we tried the funnel cake fries - and they were just that. Fried dough with cinnamon -- only they looked like fries. They were really good.
At last, I do have to say, this is a great milkshake. He got strawberry and I got Oreo. They were thick, flavorful, and cold.
This place gets 5 stars for a great menu, great service, and great taste. read more
