My cousin was in town visiting and she was wanting pasta for dinner. I had heard great things about Cafe Med and convinced her to give it a try.
We called to check if we could get a table - not until 8pm. Too late for us so we made a reservation for the next night; which filled up because we called to see if we could push it back by half an hour and not possible.
The food was incredible. Starting with the pillowy soft bread to dip in the tangy and fruity olive oil & balsamic vinegar, with just the right amount of salt on the crust.
My chopped scallops with linguine was so simple but bursting with flavor. My cousin got mushroom ravioli which she really enjoyed. We didn't stay for dessert because by the time we had finished our dinner we were desperate to leave.
Cafe Med is a small place and they have maximized seating. But haven't done anything to soften the noise. Between the music and cacophony of noisy conversations it was draining to be there. We were seated near the bar and a couple came and got drinks, waiting for their table, and it felt like they were on our shoulders.
Our waiter, Sebastian, was so sweet but it appeared he was the only waiter for the inner room & he was a bit frazzled. We had to ask a couple times for bread, he forgot the side of sauce for my cousin. I almost suggested we leave after using the restroom which had a sizable colony of gnats living in there.
All in all, I may go back because the food was delicious. But I would choose an odd time so that it would be a bit more peaceful. read more
