Why I Did Not Hire Caliber Collision - And Never Will
I had a claim to repair damage to my truck after a malicious break-in, during which the driver-side door lock was punched in and personal property was stolen. My insurance company provided me with a list of recommended repair shops, and I chose to visit Caliber Collision for an estimate.
When I arrived, I explained that I needed the door lock cylinder replaced. This is a relatively straightforward job that should take no more than 30 minutes for a skilled technician. I was willing to allow an hour for completion.
My insurance adjuster advised me to obtain a hard copy of the estimate. I clearly asked the service representative for this. He told me he would send it to both the insurance adjuster and myself. However, I never received it, and neither did my adjuster. He chose to ignore my request.
Instead of focusing on the issue I came in for, the service rep began inspecting for smudges and tiny dents unrelated to the claim. I reiterated that my only concern was the door lock, but he continued taking photos of the truck from several angles. When I asked what he was doing, he didn't respond.
At this point, I had lost trust in their ability to respect my time, communicate clearly, or follow basic customer service practices. Whether or not they eventually sent the estimate became irrelevant; they would not be getting the job.
They didn't listen to me, the customer; the one who pays both the insurance premiums and the bills. Based on my experience, it felt like they were more focused on inflating the estimate than solving my actual problem.
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Caliber Collusion to anyone. read more
