This was my second visit to Captain Mc's, and once again the food was fresh, flavorful, and the customer service was excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with family. I ordered the combo plate with black drum and popcorn shrimp. I originally went hoping to get the crab fingers, but unfortunately they were unavailable. The hush puppies were outstanding--crispy, flavorful, and some of the best I've had. The black drum was fresh and delicious, and my daughter said her crab cake sandwich was excellent. My only concern is the pricing. I completely understand that Captain Mc's catches and serves fresh fish, and the quality definitely shows. However, I paid $38 for a plate that included three small black drum fillets, fries, hush puppies, and popcorn shrimp that were a bit overcooked. While the food tasted great, the portion size did not match the price. In short, Captain Mcs serves fresh, tasty seafood and provides great customer service, but I believe the value for the money could be improved. For the price of those three small fillets, I could have purchased two whole black drum fish myself. The quality is there--the portions just need to better reflect the cost. read more
