I'd seen the sign for Catfish Station on many occasion, but never the actual restaurant. My wife's offer to bring dinner to my daughter's home gave me an opportunity to explore. The unassuming restaurant had a homey, clean and functional interior attached to a convenience store. We ordered 10 Fish, 15 Shrimp family meal with french fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies to go. The fish was fried to golden perfection, but rather mild on seasoning for a "Cajun" restaurant (same sentiments for the spicy tarter sauce and remoulade sauce). We all agreed that the shrimp were very good. It was a split decision on the hushpuppies as my wife and daughter like sweet cornbread and I prefer savory. In any event, all of the fried foods (including the hushpuppies) were fried perfectly. The quality of the food, cleanliness of the restaurant, and friendliness of the staff earns a repeat visit to Catfish Station when I am in the Cypress area. read more
