First Persian food experience, and definitely not my last.
My cousin works with a lot of middle Eastern refugees and has been to the Middle East several times, so she knows her stuff when it comes to Middle Eastern food. She wanted to take me out here to have me try it out, and being a fan of many spices and a fan of Lebanese food, I agreed.
*perisan tea ($1.99): essentially red tea served alongside a saffron rock candy stick. The tea was almost flavorless without the candy (consider that I never add extra sugar to my tea, so this is saying something), so I swirled it in and it became 10x better.
*glass of doogh ($1.99): plain yogurt mixed with mint, water, salt, and pepper. This was really creamy and satisfying!
*mirza ghasemi ($8.99): barbecued eggplant dip served with pita bread. The dip was smokey, which we loved, and the pita was nice and light. Actually, so nice, that we took extra home.
*vaziri ($13.99 as a Friday special, $16.99 regular): combination of one skewer, ground beef, and one skewer of boneless chicken breast served with saffron rice and grilled tomato. The meats were juicy and cooked well, the rice was flavorful yet light, and the tomato was the cherry on top.
*baghali pollo ($16.99): whole lamb shank with dill rice. The lamb was tender and juicy and the rice was flavorful without being oily.
The hostess was super friendly and personable, which we really appreciated.
Garage parking is tight at the back of the restaurant, but it's worth braving to enjoy the food here. read more
