I came here with with 3 other people to visit Cedar Key for a few days. A friend booked the Cedar Inn, based on its good location, and low price. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, I felt unsure about staying here. It sounded like the previous owners had neglected the motel, but some new owners took over, and made a few improvements.
The motel is no-frills, but our room was clean. It had a microwave, and small fridge, but no coffee
maker. We found that some of the local places were closed, on Mon-Wed, so we went to Annie's cafe for coffee to go.
The beds were kind of bouncy, and pillows were flat. If you can, bring your own pillow. Bathroom is tiny, & cramped, but shower worked fine. Soap is provided, but no shampoo, so bring your own.
No blow dryer provided, either.
Wifi worked pretty good, but the electrical outlets need replacing. When I plugged my cell phone charger in, it kept popping out of the socket.
There was a balcony on the second level, with plenty of chairs, and a swing. We sat & relaxed with some wine & snacks.
The rates were very good, at 70$ a night, staying 2 nights in January.
I can't say that I'd totally recommend this place, due to the uncomfortable beds & bedding. If you're the type of person that can sleep anywhere, it's a good value. If you're a light sleeper, with arthritis issues like me, then I'd look elsewhere for a more comfortable place, & decent night's sleep. read more
