I first went to Chaska at their Mississauga location and have been there on quite a few occasions thereafter and was always delighted by the ambiance, service and food
Not surprisingly, therefore, I was excited when I saw them constructing a location in Oakville
Yesterday I noticed that this location had opened
So I decided to call them at 2:15pm yesterday to place an order and they told me that I could either place an order on-line or via Uber Eats
I had no desire to go through Uber Eats since Chaska in Oakville is almost next door to me and since I didn't have the time to register with Chaska on-line. After much discussion the lady on the other end of the line said she would make a one-time exception and take my order over the phone
So I did...
I told her that I wanted a Achari Chicken Kathi Roll and a Chicken Tikka Kathi Roll ... with rotis extra crips and that I would swing by at 5:15pm to pick up and pay for my order
I arrive there at 5:11pm and they hadn't even started preparing my order
'We were very busy' was what I was told
Flabbergasting
When I told them (again) that I wanted my rotis extra crisp.. I was told, 'that will be possible IF the Chef agrees'
Ridiculous
I get my food finally at around 5:30pm and they threw in a samosa as compensation for their extremely sub optimal service ... hilarious
I get home to discover that the rotis were anything but crisp and I had to open both the rolls to to figure out which one was which
I then had to heat both the rolls on my griddle so as to get them to the level of crispness that I like
Clearly, the crew at this location has not been trained and if they have been, then their training manger needs to be shown the door
This location is a far cry from the one in Mississauga and unless they shape up and shape up fast... they will be pulling their shutters down in the very near future
