Yo what it is instafam.
It goes like this: physical features/service/food.
Suggestions and final words are at the bottom.
Physical Features: (4/5)
Directly nestled between a McDonald's and a Love's Gas Station off of Exit 73 off of I-85 is a Chester's Chicken. The front exterior sports an all brick look with a sign that showcases a huge white chicken wearing a red cowboy hat. Inside you will find you one TV, roughly 4-5 booths, two high tables with high chairs on top of brownish looking tiles. One booth had trash on them for 30 minutes while we were there. The food/front counter has a deep maroon finish that surrounds the word "Chester's." Above the counter is the menu on 3 TVs.
Service: (1/5)
So this is where is gets a little tough. I have been to this place 4 to 5 times and the food is definitely what keeps me coming back (not the service). For the past 2-3 visits, the person operating the cash register has been rude and often replies in an irritated tone. I understand that he/she/they might have had a bad day but it just seems strange that it happened 2-3 times. In addition to that, there is normally only one person working... Someone needs to get HR in there yo.
Food: (4/5)
- Fried Chicken Gizzards/Livers: 5/5 - $5.40. So I know this may be out of touch for some people to try... But y'all should try it tho. A little gamey and more on the exotic side rather than your typical fried chicken or tenders. They are slightly greasy and have hella oil. They give a good amount. Try it with ketchup - you might like it! They also offer the following (of which I have not tried): fried chicken, chicken tenders, potato wedges, fried corn, cole slaw, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac n' cheese, honey butter biscuits, and a variety of beverages.
Most food options are under $10 unless if you tryna go family style.
JT's Suggestions:
- Swing by here and get the gizzards and livers. I honestly can't say much other than just to try them!1! Until I try other menu items, I can't really suggest anything else. The bathrooms in Love's are very clean though if you need to relieve yourself.
Final Words:
Chester's exterior is kinda meh since it's between a Love's and McDonald's. It has an okay interior. Even though their service has not been too great, that doesn't really matter because I normally do a to-go order anyways. I recommend you come and try the liver and gizzards - but if that isn't your thing and you're not keen to bad service then I suggest you swerve this place like your ex (3/5). read more
