As you walk in the door of New China Buffet, one is met with a foul smell. Dead rat, I thought? I should have turned around and fled. Table for two as my daughter and I were returning to South Florida. Almost $40 for a late Sunday afternoon meal. The unlimited buffet and two glasses of water. China Buffet is a bare bones Chinese restaurant in a strip center off of Interstate 95 in Waltersboro, South Carolina. The food itself is barely edible, terrible in taste, and seemingly overcooked. Table service was slow. The server had a simple job - keep the water glass full and the table clear of plates. She failed at this simple task as the water glass was never filled. I quit eating after a second plate and switched to the prepackaged ice cream. I ate two, "trying hard" to get my monies worth. Steer clear of China Buffet. Not only does the restaurant smell absolutely foul, but the food isn't any better. read more
