38 years ago, my wife and I went to China Pavillion for our first date. Back then, it was a real restaurant located on the Southern Bypass. It had table service, authentic Oriental decor and great food. Fast forward. They have moved, which is understandable. The new China Pavillion only has counter service, although they did deliver our food to our table. Meals are served in disposable aluminum pans. Flatware is plastic. As for the quality of the food, I'd say I've had better. Much better. But it was passable. We both has sweet and sour chicken. The chicken had apparently been frozen, but was cooked correctly. The sauce and the fried rice were both pretty good. The egg roll was passable- probably a good solid "C+", but I have had better. The lady who took our order was pretty bland. We tried to make pleasant conversation with her, but she seemed there to just do her job. Overall, this restaurant is a far cry from what it was 38 years ago.
