I was still on an Asian food high, having just come from Singapore and Indonesia, when a friend of mine invited me to lunch at Chomp Chomp, which is a hop and a skip away from my office. That time, I was still trying to perfect my version of nasi goreng and chicken satay at home, so I could finally offer it to my friends. Good thing I was able to get a refresher on how they should taste, courtesy of Chomp Chomp!
Since my first visit, I've always ordered Chicken Satay (Php 35/stick) with either Nasi Goreng or Plain Rice, which I both recommend. The peanut sauce for the satay is quite runny, though, so it may not be to everyone's liking, but it lends a lighter flavor than usual, so it's fine with me.
If you're feeling extra hungry, a huge bowl of Singapore Ramen, which comes with two slices of Spam and a sunny side up egg is a great bet. I won't judge you if you order extra rice with that, promise!
Oh, by the way, Chomp Chomp markets itself as a home of "Asian Street Food", so it's probably a great idea to try their foods in stick. I had their Squid Balls at lunch today, which are quite pricey at Php 35 a stick, but turner out to be worth it upon first bite! The balls don't just taste of dough and oil and air like a lot of squid balls do, so they were a treat for this squid lover! read more
