A lovely, impromptu girls' evening landed us at City Gate Grille, and honestly, it was one of those why-don't-we-do-this-more-often nights. There was live jazz setting the mood, well-crafted Old Fashioneds doing their job beautifully, and just enough indulgent bites to keep us happily lingering. The French onion soup was rich and comforting, and the lamb sliders were downright amazing, tender, flavorful, and very easy to over-order. The space itself is warm, sleek, and inviting, with a comfortable, good-looking bar that makes you want to stay for "just one more."
