After months of asking to talk to somebody other than the sales rep and the construction supervisor, we finally got the attention of two executives of the company. We would have much appreciated discussing our situation before having to resort to write this review. The response we received was only partially correct. We were NEVER made aware that the home site would require such a steep incline to get to the house. My husband has a serious lung condition and would not have been able to leave and return to our house by foot, even to just walk around the cul-de-sac to maybe say hello to neighbors or walk the dog. They suggested that he drive to the bottom of the driveway by car, park the car and then walk. Seriously?! My husband's health was discussed and stressed from the very get-go. He often did not even accompany me to the model home/office because the incline to get there was a challenge for him, even though it was much less than "our" house ended up having. Of the two only lot sizes remaining to accompany our floor plan, we put much consideration into picking the flatter one not realizing or being told what a steep incline to the home this would mean. We would have been able to get over some of the misinformation we received before and during construction, promises that were broken, and mistakes that were made during the construction, but the driveway was definitely a deal breaker for us. Having to back out of purchasing the house cost us almost $20,000 because of cost for the bigger lot size, the extra garage, etc., which the company adamantly refused to refund, even just in part.
