Was in the area for a couple of hours and was looking for an espresso place were I could sit, read, and spend some good time while waiting. Unfortunately Ravenna's Cafe Ladro was closed so I pulled up Yelp and I found this place, which was actually closer to the location I needed to be at. Once I got there I was not sure if the place was what I was looking for, because there is no sign or I couldn't see any, and the place looks a bit run down, but I peeked in and sure enough it was it. Got my usual cortado, which came with sparkling water, similar to how cafe ladro serves it, great! Preparation is quite slow, but whatever, it seems to be the norm around here. I'm used to the speed of Italian baristas in italy and omg there's no competition... in italy they are so fast! Anyway, I get my drink and I sit down outside under a canopy. The cortado is delicious and I spend some productive time reading undisturbed. I peeked at the food, but I couldn't see anything that seemed worth the sugar/calorie intake, so I passed. Anyway, I enjoyed the drink and the ambience, even if it showed its age. read more
