Tip: Sign up for Breadcrumbs rewards to get a discount on your next order and a free treat on your birthday. I was in Kitchener on Saturday. After having done some grocery shopping at Food Basics, I was figuring out what was in the plaza. I spotted this COBS Bread. I had to check it out. I parked fairly close to the entrance. The MEC store is near it, which was also new to me. This bakery was busy at around 4 pm. It was fully stocked with every baked good that I liked, so I was pleased. The COBS Bread in Aurora had run out of almost everything when I was there on a Saturday at 4 pm. It's refreshing that this store and another one in Pickering that I had visited recently were not sold out of everything. There were a few customers ahead of me. I didn't mind waiting in line, as it helped me figure out what I wanted. I got the nicest woman when it was my turn. I got these items: - Wild blueberry and custard danish - Raspberry and custard danish - Chocolate croissant What stood out was this woman's memory. She wanted for me to specify my items and she went right to work putting them in a box. She got my order correct. I also think it helped that all three items were together in the display case. I got my Breadcrumbs QR code on the COBS Bread app scanned. I then paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. She handed me my box of goodies. I thanked her and left. My go-to danish is the raspberry and custard. It's so good. The custard with the raspberries are the perfect combination in a pastry. I tried the wild blueberry and custard danish for the first time. So good! The blueberries were small, but delicious. They had the right balance of sweetness and tartness. The custard was the same. I need another one! If you like dark chocolate, the chocolate croissant here is divine. The croissant is flaky and buttery. Each bite has the best dark chocolate. Yum! It was a good idea to stop at this store. I'd return for more good eats when I'm in Kitchener again. (206) read more
