Finally made it to Hijole Maria tonight. I've been a fan since their pop-up at Vinnie's Bar and Grill a few blocks away, so I was excited to check out the store. The food is always spot-on--comforting, tasty, and never misses the mark. I tried the Chicken Tinga Fried Quesadilla, and it was so good! The homemade tortilla was flavorful and perfectly crispy -- and what I like about it not greasy at all. The salsas, pickled onions, and cotija What really makes this place special, though, is the vibe. Francisco and his mom are so welcoming. It feels like you're eating at someone's house but at the same time, the space/bar is designed well -- super clean, modern, and fun. I can't wait for the patio to be finished! If you haven't been yet, go check it out and show some love. I'm already excited to try more from the menu.
