I finally did it. I cancelled my subscription to the Columbus Dispatch after having subscribed to it for more years than I care to tell you.
The Columbus Dispatch is not a great newspaper and it's not a bad newspaper. I did it because it just wasn't very interesting anymore. The writing was trite and unimaginative. There just wasn't any "edge" to it at all.
I did like the Arts section though. It's about the only part that I would actually read as there's some decent writing in this section and they are really good at keeping up on what's going on in the Columbus arts scene. Kudos to them on that.
So for all intents and purposes I hadn't really much read the newspaper in years. My subscription was down to Sunday only and frankly it was for the coupons more than the actual newspaper. When Kroger stopped doubling coupons, there really wasn't much point in my weekly contribution to the Columbus landfill.
So I'll say "Thank you Columbus Dispatch and goodbye." read more
