I sold my house in June of 2017. We temporarily packed most of our valuables at the Compton Self Storage. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I visited our unit to search for some items. We were disgusted and appalled by what we saw when we lifted the door. Rat feces and pigeon excrement was on everything! The smell of rat urine (which soaked my couches, chairs and anything with a cushion) was suffocating. All of our valuables and irreplaceable photos/mementos were completely ruined! We reported our horrible findings to the officer manager, Araceli. Araceli informed us the owner is aware of a rat infestation. We were given a claim form; which the max possible to be recouped is $500 for vermin damage. One couch alone was $500! I paid $2,016 ($168 per month) and entrusted my treasured possessions to Compton Self Storage and they did not hold up their end of the bargain. They had one job - protect and preserve my items in the care received. They failed miserably! read more
