Thought we were conchasseuirs but we got concha woke today. The event was free but had a $5 parking fee. There were several local bakeries and one from Crystal City that brought their concha goodness. Naturally, each has its own recipe for their conchas and you could really taste the differences. Some had sweeter toppings, some fluffier conchas, some denser. There was quite a variety and no concha sample went untasted. Each bakery did a phenomenal job as all were great. At the end, you got to vote for your favorite concha bakery. On the grounds they also had dj, coffee and soft drink vendors as well as other artisans with some really cool stuff. Really glad we got there as they were opening as when we left an hour later, there were lines of cars trying to get in on both sides of the street Super fun event that I hope becomes an annual event. read more
