Andrew was chosen and paid for by our landlady (which probably means his rate was good - I just can't speak to specifics). He came a few days after the original reach out. In person, he gave us a brief rundown of our situation and how carpenter bees thrive in environments like in our backyard. (Ack!) He was able to treat the bees' nests on the spot - about five holes - and within an hour or two, we had about 30 bees die! While he had given us a pamphlet on his method and the substance used, we wanted a clear answer on whether we needed to pick up the bees to prevent our dog from eating them. I texted him with this question, and within a half hour, he called me back. He confirmed that while the toxicity was low, we might as well pick up the dead bees. Three days later, he came to seal up the holes. We did end up seeing additional bees a week later, and he came by again to seal up what is hopefully the remaining holes. It was a little harder to schedule this appointment, but it was worth the wait.
