This was our second show at Creative Pinellas. This time we saw miniatures, in contrast to huge paintings in adjacent rooms. Both types of art were remarkable and memorable.
We donated five dollars, and received 5 coupons for a chance to win one of 3 miniatures. We put 2 in the miniature painting of poppies and 3 in the miniature of a house. Maybe we'll win one. The third was of trees. It was also very nice.
A volunteer greeted us as we entered and told us about the exhibit. It's moving to the Leepa Ratner Museum next. We'll probably go again since that museum is closer to our house and we enjoyed the art so much.
There were so many different miniature paintings, arranged by similar designs - 8 or more in a large box. The art was in two rooms. My favorites were the animals. Of the large women painted on the walls of 3 rooms by Sam Modder, I loved the one with the one hundred hair bands. Husband loved the one who had all the braids.
We did not buy any treats, but they are for sale at the front reception desk - chips and more. And did I tell you the show is FREE?? It is. So if you live nearby, come and see these exquisite tiny paintings and Sam Modder's huge painted women. read more
