Cruix is pronounced Crooshhh, which in Catalan means Crunch. Michelin gives it a Bib Gourmand and I agree with that designation.
So you should make a reservation to avoid not getting a table. We were staying in Eixample so it was easy to walk over here from our hotel. We decided to get the 11 course meal with Avinyo Cava, which is a Brut sparkling wine, the grapes are from the local Penedes Region.
As for the meal, we enjoyed the following:
- Parmesan cheeseballs
- anchovies with hollandaise sauce
- beet root hummus
- gazpacho with mackerel
- cod with aioli mousse
- Pekin duck croquettes
- mushrooms with creamed eel sauce
- oxtail meatballs
- jamon paella
- tom khia ice cream soup
- sad day at the beach ice cream cone - my favorite!!
Every dish was unique and distinct from the prior one that was served. The pace was just right and the service was excellent - they were not rushing you at all. This is a great place to enjoy Cruix's well known tapas and paella..and everything was very good and I plan to make sad day at the beach dessert at home. read more
