My first impression of walking into a Daiso is the equivalent of walking into a Dollar General where the walls are dressed up in pink instead of green. The selection is very much the same, although there is no produce or food aisle. You'll also not find a refrigerated or freezer section for food, but you will find sugary snacks. After looking around, you can see evidence of the Asian influence in many of the kitchen wares, decor, and miscellaneous items throughout the store. One odd thing about this place is that nothing is priced, but there are price guides on every aisle to let you know what you're going to be paying. Basically this is just another Dollar General (and there's one of those located just a few hundred feet away in the same shopping strip) with an Asian twist where the prices just aren't worth the cheaply made merchandise.
