It has been years since I walked into a physical DAVIDs Tea store. The greater Toronto area has two left at the Eaton Centre and Sherway Gardens. If we want to think about southern Ontario, there are stores in Hamilton and London that remain.
It's sad. The last time I was in a DAVIDs Tea was in Ottawa. It was enjoyable to get a cold iced tea after you see a staffer steep it in front of your eyes. It was lovely sitting there with a friend and chating in a trendy neighbourhood.
The vibe was a bit different here, but I loved it.
CF Polo Park is the lone DAVIDs Tea location in Manitoba. It's located on the first floor of the mall, steps away from hitting the stairs to the bowling alley. It's in front of a bunch of construction.
Yep, a bowling alley in the lower level of a nice mall. It's perfect. Bowl until you're sweaty and tired, and then grab a cold tea here.
It was nice seeing convenient packs of cold brew tea bags. This brand has always been great at steeping tea as easy as possible if you're not at home with your loose leaf tea, casually measuring it out and steeping it.
I liked the perfect tea pitchers in cheerful colours. It was tempting to get one, but I do have a nice one already. Perhaps when its time is up, I'll get a new one.
The tea presses were also cool. You can also get boba here.
Naturally, there were shelves of loose leaf teas. It made me happy looking at them.
You could get a cold iced tea here. I was still okay drink-wise, so I had to pass.
I'm glad that this store exists. Here's hoping that it continues to thrive. Otherwise, Winnipeggers will need to hit Edmonton or London to visit the closest store to the west and east, respectively.
