Deep River Roasters is getting added to my list of favorite coffee spots. This was my first time going and I wanted to try one of their coffee blends. I asked what blend from their list they recommended for a iced black coffee. To my surprise, the staff gave me a small sample of the two he thought were best and his personal favorite. I landed on the John Winthrop UFO Hunter, a dark roast coffee that was simply out of this world. Smooth and rich, toasty flavor. We also got a Hot Chai Latte with Pumpkin Pie flavoring that was also delicious. They had pastries and other baked goodies, but Deep River Roasters is all about the coffee. They have packages of their coffee stocked up in the shop for you to take home. Some of the names were inspired from local history and tales. The cafe is small, but there is an outdoor patio with tables and chairs overlooking the other Witch Hazel Buildings and the Essex Steam Train. If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend giving Deep River Roasters a shot. read more
