Devastation trail is a quick left turn upon entering the park. It's about a 13-15 min drive to park and about a 15 min trek to the crater. We went to visit at 8:40pm. Many had flashlights and headlamp but the evening sky was clear and the moon was outs so some went hiking without one. We walked in the dark and because we didn't how far the roped off section was we asked twice how long to the site and everyone was helpful.
