This gas station is one of those where I stop because it happens to be near the local Sonic. It's in a convenient, easy on and easy off exit on Interstate 30. I think this may have been a thriving restaurant back in the day, but now it's mainly a truck stop with showers and gas, and that's about it. Honestly, I'm not even sure if they have showers available. The ladies room is dismal - black marble fixture that were nice, back in the day, but that have been repaired piecemeal with white parts. It's not filthy - just run down and not super well looked after. It's like the proprietors just don't care. When paying for gas at the pump, you cannot yse a debit card - you have to go inside to pre-pay at the counter. There is no hot food or microwave, and no place to get fountain drinks. I passed through once at Thanksgiving and again at Christmas, and I swear that the same cans of coffee beverages were in the cooker, untouched, in the exact same spots. Why do I stop here? Because I don't want to stop in Texarkana, and there's not a Love's nearby. I have to give them credit for always having gas and for having cordial employees. Other than that, I'd say that this is not a place that I would recommend unless you are running on fumes - or if you want to stop by Sonic down the street afterwards. read more
