I was waiting for my takeout order to be ready at El Parian Mexican Restaurant on Cinco de Mayo. I got word that it needed fifteen minutes to prepare. What to do?
In this same plaza is Dollar Tree. Perfect! I decided to drive over, as this plaza is vast and both businesses aren't close together.
I backed into a spot and walked in. It's a large dollar store.
Right off the bat, I saw DVDs and CDs. There was a Duran Duran one that was from a live show in 2011. I decided to get it at $1.25, which is ridiculous!
This store has the distinction of getting me into bubbles as a hobby. I saw the bubble wands and knew that I needed one. I got a pink one, which provided an enjoyable time blowing bubbles at Silver Lake Park in Rochester. I actually brought the wand back to Markham empty and have refilled it with bubble solution for even more fun.
This Dollar Tree has the dubious distinction of not having a frozen foods section. Why not? It's the highlight for this Canadian to see frozen breakfast foods and pizza. Essentially, it's like going into a Canadian Dollar Tree, but you still get cool stuff that you don't get in Canada. It's still worth coming here.
I like that you can get smaller packages of laundry detergent pods and scent enhancers. The Dollar Tree closer to the hotel where I normally stay does not offer smaller sizes. I appreciate that I can come here for all my hotel laundry needs.
I like the water bottle flavour enhancers that you can get here. There was watermelon Crush that tugged at my heartstrings. I got some and it's yummy. It's sugar-free, which suits my needs.
The cereal section is impressive. There are smaller resealable bags of cereal. I feel like this store is calling my name. You're staying at a hotel for a short period? Here's stuff that you'll like. I do!
I paid for my items and got help from the nicest male staffer at the checkout. I used my credit card and tapped to pay. He put everything in a bag for me. I thanked him and happily walked out of the store with my purchases.
Despite not having a frozen foods section, this Dollar Tree is decent. I'll be back for more.
