Dollar Tree is one of the 2 major chain dollar stores in Ottawa, the other Dollarama. It's obviously the underdog as it has much fewer stores than Dollarama. I actually much prefer Dollar Tree to Dollarama, but due to the fewer and less convenient locations for me, I admittedly go to Dollarama more. This Dollar Tree is the one that is least inconvenient for me. I love that Dollar Tree has helium balloons (Dollarama does not). Their selection is much smaller than places like Party City or Party Mart, but they still have a good variety of mylar balloons. Their greeting cards selection is also great. They have a lot of licensed cards like Disney princesses, Mickey Mouse, etc. which make me very popular with my little nieces. They also have a forever changing inventory of brand name food items that I've seen in grocery stores. They are usually limited edition items, items nearing their expiration dates or items that didn't sell well. Dollarama has brand name food items too, but they tend to be items made specifically for Dollarama, as the prices and the Dollarama logo are actually printed on the packaging. This Dollar Tree is similar to other locations in size and layout. It's located in the same plaza as Loblaws and Fabricland. There's free parking in the plaza parking lot. read more
