Located within Grapevine Mills Mall exists a little shop called DotDot Bang, a magical place that my 3 nieces (ages 8-13) are absolutely obsessed with. It's a retail store that sells all-things anime, kawaii, and Asian pop culture. Plushies, toys, clothes, purses and backpacks, jewelry, stationary, school/office supplies, art supplies, home decor, water bottles, candy and lipgloss, blind boxes and seasonal stuff, anything trending... And everything is cute and fun and well-crafted.
The shop itself is well-organized, well-lit, and pleasant overall. You could spend a lot of time browsing through aaaall these goodies. The staff is kind and helpful, too. The girls i've interacted with know where every little thing is.
I was kinda surprised by the range in prices here! You'll pick up one Hello Kitty plushie thing that's $20, then find a similar-sized Hello Kitty in another section that's $75. Must have been a limited edition or something, hahah. A lot of stuff in here seems expensive to me, no matter how cute and soft, but that's just capitalism. The good news is they have affordable options as well. I recently visited with my 8 year old niece and let her pick out a few things, and she found an $18 fanny pack/zipper bag thing, a $5 pair of pens, and an $8 keychain/night-light. Definitely not cheap, but affordable for their quality, cuteness, how happy they made my niece, and my current budget! Really fun options for whatever you're able and willing to spend. read more
